And you? When will you begin that long journey into yourself? -Rumi

I’m so glad you’re here…..

You are taking a brave step towards healing.

Hi! I’m Kathleen Converse, LCSW  (she/her).

I will partner with you to create a compassionate, non-judgemental container, much like a chrysalis, for you to turn inward, heal and emerge your most confident and truest self.

My Approach

I take a personalized, collaborative and holistic approach to healing. I am trained in EMDR and Internal Family Systems Theory informed, and draw on somatic mind- body techniques in my work with clients. I use a strengths based approach to build on your existing coping strategies. I am also trained as a Level 2 reiki practitioner and enjoy exploring the intersections between neuroscience, evidence based practices, and energy work. I often incorporate guided meditations into sessions to help you connect with the wise, intuitive voice inside of you that already knows how to heal. I also love to incorporate art, oracle cards and other tools to help you connect more with your intuition and subconscious.

My Background

I got my Masters in Social Work from Portland State University. I spent several years after graduation working as a sexual assault advocate before becoming the Director of the Center for Gender Equity at a small university. I draw on my work doing interpersonal violence prevention and supporting LGBTQ+ students through higher education, and community activism, in order to provide trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive care.

My practice strives to be anti-oppressive, queer and trans affirming, neuro-affirming, and trauma- informed. I believe that individual healing creates ripples in the world, and that a more equitable and just world is possible starting by healing ourselves.

About Me

When I’m not working with clients, I am spending time with my family, hiking, gardening, reading, and writing children’s books and passionate letters to my senators. I love spending time in nature watching the seasons change and often draw on nature based metaphors in my healing work with clients.

I’d love to connect and see if we could be a good fit.
